Museum Fiss CTA EN

The right-hand area of the barn owned by the Pregenzer family is dedicated to the popular Tyrolean carnival custom called "Fisser Blochziehen".

In this custom a 30 metre long, colourfully decorated pine log is dragged through the village streets on a sled by masked revellers. Traditional figures representing the individual participants of the parade, such as the devil, the bear or even the witch, convey an impression of the carnival procession.

Visitors can watch a film showing how this spectacle unfolds. Spooky noises, colourful masks and laughing visitors create a sense of anticipation for the next "Blochziehen" event. A "Children's Blochzieh corner" has been created especially for younger visitors, where they can have fun acting out the roles of the various characters themselves.

The next "Blochziehen" is in January 2023!
