Isidor Pale was born on 8th July 1887 and died in 1968 in the monastery (old people's home/nursing home) in Ried.

Until 1961, he lived with his brother Franz and his family in "s'Paules und s'Seppls" house. Er war eine außergewöhnliche Persönlichkeit, ein Sonderling in der Dorfgemeinschaft.
Records tell about his work as a gravedigger and night watchman or how he impressed the children of the village with his stories and chocolate.

He wrote down everything that moved him, everything he had to do or had done. His religious beliefs appear to be everyday occurrences, especially his philosophical observationsIsidor Pale bequeathed his works of literature to posterity in his own unique way – and he lives on in the stories of the village inhabitants.

"Nobody thinks about eternity,
nobody thinks about hell."
